Our Purpose & Ministry
The major purpose of this committee is a caring
ministry for every member and attending non-member of the church.
Our purpose is to:
1. Reach out to every member
and attending non-member to try to bring them into fellowship and
minister to them any way we can.
2. To get to know them so they
will have confidence in us as representatives of our church, and
then, in turn, respond in times of need so we can minister as needed.
3. Show loving concern in a practical
way where help is needed.
4. Pray regularly and faithfully
for members and attending non-members.
5. See our role as an opportunity
to share Christ's love and His word by giving of ourselves, realizing
it is a privilege to serve the Lord.
Goals of Deacons & Deaconesses
1. Each member and attending
non-member of the church will be contacted on a monthly basis by
their deaconess, so needs will not slip by the attention of the
committee.
2. The sick and bereaved needs
will be met as requested by the Deacons Committee.
3. Each member and attending
non-member will be prayed for regularly.
4. Personal contact in School
of Christian Living and church in order to learn names of new people
and report the names to the committee.
5. Offer to pick up for special
meetings so they won't have to come alone.
6. Contact members and attending
non-members by phone calls, cards and notes maintaining a strong
community.
If you would like to contact your deacon
or deaconess and you are not sure of who they are, please contact
the church office and we will put you in touch with them.
